Melanated Classic Tarot

Although the Rider Waite Smith tarot deck was meant to showcase universal archetypes to spark the subconscious mind of every man and woman regardless of race – and although Colman-Smith was a bi-racial woman of color who spent her early life living in Jamaica, she was paid to draw scenes depicting only whites.

Representation matters. Visual reparations matter. As new generations of melanated men and women turn toward tarot cards for guidance, spirituality and entrepreneurship, its imperative they use tools that replenish their self-esteem, power & potential.

The Melanated Classic Tarot deck is scheduled for release on January 21st 2019. It includes 78 full color illustrations by Julia Goolsby; the instruction booklet, written by Oubria Tronshaw, includes a revolutionary narrative of divine love and partnership. The cost is $35, plus $7 for shipping and handling.

love is real and worth it and SO important to me it’s pretty much my entire political spiritual philosophical deal………you can be critical of how romantic love is commodified and dominated by heteronormative myths for sure but ppl out there like “love is fake” aren’t doing ANYTHING interesting or subversive……love is revolutionary bc the systems that oppress us are directly opposed to all kinds of love, interpersonal love and self love etc. they’re trying to drive it out of us. love as an action love as a choice love as something u cultivate and tend to is the best thing in the world and it’s at the absolute centre of my life
