Now it’s turn to gather our energies and start working on more introspective matters. So we have been concentrating on our contribution to the Viridis Genii Symposium that will take place on July 2019, in which we will focus on the lore surrounding Thorns and Bushes. We have been inspecting the Land, mingling with the mastery of thorny bushes and brambles, and November seems to be a more than appropriate time to do so. Look at this beautiful blackthorn and the mesmerising colours of soon to be dormant Wilderness. We have also managed to harvest a beautiful green hellebore plant, whose root will be employed in the new talisman collection.

Make a Vampire character who’s lived through several waves of the common language’s development and can’t let go if certain gramatical habbits from different time eras.

So like, thou ist a horrid creature, an absolute cur, but go off i guess

… can i use that phrase irl?

Absolutely you can and I encourage more uses of similar phrases that just completely fuck up the chronology of the english langauge. I wanna hear 15th century english mixed with surfer speak mixed with current age internet lingo like all the time.

Like this? Well my dude, seems like a weasel hath not such a deal of splean as you’re toss’d with. Chill already, you’re not valid.

You are an unrighteous, bastardly gullion. Heaven truly
knows that thou art false as hell. When you die, I will face God and walk
backwards into hell just so that I can beat your ass in the afterlife too.

I love the idea of a vampire who’s language travels back in time as they get pissed.

I grieve for thee in these trying times. Alexa play Despacito

Reading these is like literary whiplash

Y’know those posts you find and are disappointed to see you’ve already liked?

My second sheet mulch victim! The sidewalk strip in front of our house, which come spring will be home to a peach tree, pea shrub, and hazelnut!

I’m always shocked by how much materials you really need for it to be effective. My recipe this time around: step 1 – brown paper roll, leaf bags, and newspaper for weed supression. Step 2 – a sprinkling of compost (because I didn’t really buy enough)

Step 3 – leaves from the yard

Step 4 – trusty straw!

Things I did differently from the other sidewalk strip – using the roll of brown paper was so much faster than newspaper! And easier to get a hold of. I just bought it at the hardware store, whereas the newspaper I spent months hoarding from my office. Also didn’t do seaweed this time. It’s good for adding minerals to the soil but also takes time and effort to go collect, which is the only reason I skipped it.

Already excited for spring and it isn’t even really winter yet!!

Here is the next vendor in our Gobble Up 2018 lineup! We’ll be featuring each of this year’s vendors right here as the show gets closer, so be sure you’re following us to get a sneak peek at all the great stuff you’ll be seeing (and tasting!) at @gobbleupseattle this year. Grab your free tickets at the link in our bio!

This is our vendor, @fridaytea, and a little bit about them:

Owner Friday Elliott’s unique take on blending stems from a neurological oddity known as Lexical-Gustatory Synesthesia. Due to this condition, Friday experiences language (both spoken and written) and abstract concepts as distinct flavor profiles. In short, she literally tastes words and ideas. This “superpower” allows Friday to create blends with a completely unique approach. With a background in herbal remedies as well as culinary arts and education, she shares her Tea Wizardry with people all over the world. Stop by the shop or order online to see what tea alchemy Friday’s whipping up today!

Come find their booth and say hello at @gobbleupseattle, at the Bell Harbor Conference Center on November 17th!
