I made Conchas! I’d never had a Concha straight off the cooling rack, still warm. It’s a life changing experience. So yummy! There were three topping flavors: vanilla, five spice, and chocolate. They were all super tasty and it was actually pretty easy to make (if you have a kitchen aid and some bread baking experience). I used the recipe from the Sept/Oct 2018 Bake From Scratch. 10/10 will bake again.
Today I made biscotti for the first time. I made the Cranberry Orange-Walnut Biscotti from Baking With Less Sugar. This recipe used honey instead of white sugar and ended up with a lovely flavor. The recipe only uses the zest of an orange and it loses most of that flavor during the drying process. If I make this again I might add a drop or three of orange oil to the batter.
Milk Bar Corn Cookies. These are some confusing combination of cornbread and sugar cookies. After a few bites your brain gives up trying to quantity them and just accepts that they’re delicious 🙂
