Completely irrelevant fun fact: I have actually been the Lucia, once. The only reason it ever happened was that my school didn’t do the whole popularity contest thing, instead having the teachers decide who got the honor that year. I vaguely understood it as a consolation price for being so profoundly uncool, but it was also kind of a big deal for a 11 year old so I wasn’t about to let that stop me.
My school was also pretty big on *~*Old-Fashioned Traditions*~*, so I got to wear a real candle crown with live candles. I remember it was brass, unexpectedly heavy, and looked like some kind of medieval torture instrument (except with candles). I wore a wet cloth under, but I was still picking bits of candle wax out of my hair for a week.
New rule. No more bright, unnatural light after sundown. Lanterns and candles give off plenty. Enough to read without struggling. Do this for a few weeks and see how much your night vision improves and how much better your sleep gets.
It’s crazy to think that for millions of years we used our night vision every evening for hours. Now we basically never let our eyes adjust to the dark and live among impossibly bright, unnatural lights. 24hr lighting is used for interrogation and torture. I imagine it gives our bodies a good daily dose of stress.

made a cactus and crystal altar today!! all I did was get a bowl, a small cactus for the middle and 3 white candles- I put black sand on top to write sigils, etc. (the bottom and the cactus are planted in succulent specific mulch, pls don’t just put a plant in sand) anyway!! feel free to use this idea for yourself, it’s a wonderful way to actually connect to the earth’s energy directly and it recycles my crystal’s energies for me 🌞
