I made a few patterns inspired by traditions celebrated in the month of december. These will be printed on silky fabric and sold as Furoshiki. The goat pattern is based off of the Scandinavian Christmas tradition of Yule, which comes from a pagan festival celebrating Odin. The heads were inspired by Saturnalia. It celebrates the mythological god Saturn and it was a time of equality, lights, gift giving and madness.
Archaeologist problems: No time to sew dress from scratch with archaeology fabric; had to go to the sci-fi convention as Outer Space Ms. Frizzle instead of Archaeology Ms. Frizzle. (Still had a blast though.)
That looks fantastic! All you need is a Liz plush to sit on your shoulder.
(And I should look into making a paleontology Ms. Frizzle dress! Hell, I’m even a natural redhead, so if I can convince the hair to stay up in a beehive…)
That would be awesome!
Check my hair – there’s a baby Liz in there!
I went for a frizzy bun with one of those mesh donut things to make it puffy enough. Seemed to match The Friz pretty decently!
I didn’t even see little Liz there! Hah!
I hope there are more lady scientists out there who think to cosplay Ms. Frizzle someday. Just imagine a bunch of us descending on SDCC or NYCC, dressed to represent our field of study.
Hell. Yes. Sign me up, I’ll be using this fabric for mine!
Oh my goodness that’s my pattern! Super flattered!!! (You are rocking the Ms. Frizzle look btw!)
Ive decided to attempt to make a little regency round gown out of the perrywinkle check fabric i got at a sale one year and wear it to a picnic this weekend. Im super slow and drag my feet so we shall see.
Im thinking about making it with small puffed sleeves and detachable long sleeves for different weather
Finished up a stitched sample of the spider web fabric print last night! This is 3-strand backstitch, fabric web prints and full kits are in the shop to stitch your own.
