Finished Object Friday.

On Friday, I took these two pieces of seaglass and made them into these gorgeous sterling silver necklaces – fully adjustable from choker to long necklace, on waxed cotton cord and embellished with sterling silver beads.

The green is from our family holiday to the Isle of Mull this summer, and the blue is from up here in the North-East of England along the Seaham coast.

Within moments of posting my intention to make them, the green one had been reserved by a dear old friend who has the fondest memories from her childhood, visiting her grandfather’s house on Mull in the summers.

And shortly after posting about the finished blue one, it, too, had been snapped up, by a returning customer.

So they are not for sale, but I am so happy with them that I wanted to share them anyway 😊💚💙

I shall make more this coming week, and there are others over at www.fripperyandsparkle.com if you fancy taking a piece of the shore wherever you go…

Making a healing balm. Collect some powerful medicinal plants, known for their amazing healing and soothing properties. You can then either crush them, blend them or make a tincture from them. You can use many different ingredients and methods. I chose to use a mixture of bees wax, coconut oil and olive oil. Put them on a very gentle heat until liquid. Mix in your medicinal herbs and leave to set.

I also added some 70% alcohol to the mix to clean the plants and help the mixture blend together. This is then evaporated once the mixture has set by using a cloth and elastic band in place of the lid.
