Cartoon Saloon, you intend to do a tarot/oracle deck in the style of Song of the Sea/Secret of Kells/Wolfwalkers, right? RIGHT?!!! They didn’t have to go far to build this broch. The sandstone is everywhere.

My boyfriend thinks Hobbits lived in here.

The broch from afar. Can you still see the sea stack?

Sadly, due to coastal erosion this may all be gone in a 100 years from now.

It blends into the surroundings pretty well.

The tiny villages in South Ronaldsay (the most southern island of the archipelago where I am staying at the moment) are all well off the beaten track and take some seeking out. This little shoreside settlement is called Herston and really has to win the prize for best kept remote island gardens 🙂
