This poem is dedicated to my dearest friend Tynisha B. whose life was tragically stolen this year. 

Your life
was stolen
by the wars
outside your door.

I’ve lost my faith in humanity
since you were taken from us.
But I refuse to stop fighting,
now is not the time to give up.

I will honor you
Today and for the rest of my days.
I will fight for you
Your legacy will not be in vain.

I will cherish you
and the love that you gave,
I will always adore you
and the differences that you made.

I honor you Tynisha
And will help stop this world of hate.
So that all trans lives; past, present, and future
won’t be invisible, taken or erased.
