I Don’t Want To Hug You
Hugs that are mutually consented by all parties involved can be super healing.
I’ve had my share of unwanted touches, aggressions and forced skin and body interactions with others and it has taken me so long to actually find people who respect my body and understand that something which can seem as innocent as a hug still needs consent. My body is mine. My energy is mine. I do not need to share my touch with anyone.
I am super glad to have supporting partners and friends who respect these boundaries. It’s not about being rude or cold, it’s about knowing what I am willing to allow, what I want for me and my body and sticking to that.

I rewatched Lord of the Rings the other day and you know what I really appreciate?
The men are so tender.
They cry, and kiss each other’s foreheads, and hug, and call each other ‘my friend’ and ‘my dear’; they’re respectful to women and faithful to their partners; they have banter without being creepy and sleazy, and literally none of that stops them from being considered “manly”.
More Lord of the Rings men please.

Magpies are very intelligent birds, as evidenced by the fact that one clearly has a blog.
this is the best compliment i’ve ever gotten

During those moments when my life is more chaos than order, when I am at my lowest point, I always find comfort within my decks of cards. Utilizing the power of Tarot reminds me that I am not alone and that whatever I am going through will not defeat me. Tarot has become a constant reminder that at the core of my life experience, I will never truly be alone in my pain and grievances. Without my cards, I honestly do not know where I would be.

I think sometimes we subconsciously expect that we will grow out of our talents and interests, or that somehow when we hit a certain level of “maturity” all that energy will spontaneously reassemble itself into a more useful grown up direction, and like……….guys. it will not. I am always going to be good at making mix tapes about fictional characters and I am never going to be good at submitting my health insurance claims and that’s just What’s Up
