fiddling with the mockup for this regency dress im trying to hurry. I forgot that i hated the skirt side pannels and i really dont want to rip out the current ones and sew on new ones but i think i have to. Also I was planning to make this a round gown with draw string but I cant find the bias tape I bough and dont have time or desire to make my own so i might gather it to fit and do buttons in the back 🙂
Ive decided to attempt to make a little regency round gown out of the perrywinkle check fabric i got at a sale one year and wear it to a picnic this weekend. Im super slow and drag my feet so we shall see.
Im thinking about making it with small puffed sleeves and detachable long sleeves for different weather
#1.I dont have a lot of time online anymore for one so I am only using tumblr to post costuming updates and art and maybe reblog a thing or two.
#2.sharing political stuff on tumblr is just preaching to the choir, Im not challenging anyone to think or to empathize. No one is learning or gaining anything. Its an echo chamber and i have better places to put my efforts where i feel like i can change peoples minds.
#3. I have to be mindful of my own mental health and with my job and my family and my not being able to get meds i have to be mindful of what i surround myself with.
Finally finished my riding habit and just before the hunt on November 3rd. I got my darling husband to walk to the park with me in the morning to get some pictures of it.
The jacket is thick cotton velvet with black velvet accent. The vest and blouse/cravat are pretty simple and the petticoat is a lovely lightweight black wool and I managed to get some vintage kid leather gloves! The feather in my hat is also vintage. It’s all very comfortable and warm and probably my favorite project so far.
Once the world was full of wonders, but it belongs to the humans now. We creatures have all but disappeared. Daemons, vampires and witches, hiding in plain sight. Fearful of discovery. Ill at ease, even with each other. But, as my father used to say …..in every ending, there is a new beginning.
i’m working on a small cosmos-themed oracle deck – the final product will be 20 cards. i have to print 10 copies minimum, and most of them will be up for purchase once they arrive. the extra black space on the edges won’t be visible on the prints either. it’s needed as padding for the cut-off area. the middle image of this set is the backside for each card. 🌌🔮
